Good to know: On Zirkels - and thanks to the deso blockchain - creator coins allow people to invest in people directly. If you like what someone is doing, you can buy into their creator coin and sell at a higher price down the road.
Think of the stock market. If you're familiarized with stocks, then you should have no problem understanding creator coins because they function in the same exact way.
Just like you'd invest in Apple because you love the company and the products that they make, you can now invest in people if you like what they're doing.
Creator coins allow you to invest into content creators that you think will continue to grow their audience over the future. And, just like you buy into someone's creator coin, you can also sell at a profit (or loss) too.
Buying into someone's creator coin is super easy. Clicking on someone's name on zirkels will take you to their profile page. Right at the very top you'll find a button that will prompt you to buy into this person's creator coin.
Once you click the button, a popup will open up asking you to fill out your purchase details.
At the moment you can only purchase a maximum amount of $10 worth of someone's creator coin per transaction on Zirkels.
It's important to note that each content creator on Zirkels gets to determine what their founders reward is. In the image above, for examples, you can see that James determined that his founders reward is 15%. This can change at any given time so it's important that you keep an eye on this every time you buy into someone's creator coin.
The founders reward is the percentage amount that the content creator gets to keep as a reward from your investment in their coin.
In other words, buying $10 worth of James' creator coin means that you'd only get $8.5 worth of it since James gets to keep 15% of the entire transaction.
If you login to Zirkels and navigate over to the My Wallet tab of your dashboard, you'll find a section in there where you can keep track of all of the creator coins you've invested in.
In this very same tab, if you scroll down a bit you'll find a list of people who own your creator coin too.
Like we previously said, creator coins work in the same exact way as stocks. Just like you can invest into people's coin you can also sell your investment.
At the moment Zirkels only supports the purchase of creator coins. In order to sell someone's creator coin please do so through another deso supported app.
