Creating your first article

Good to know: on zirkels you can create different types of content, not just articles. We'll get into video and audio later.
Articles and long-form written content are the main essence of zirkels. Zirkels was built with the idea of allowing bloggers, journalists and creators to maintain complete ownership of their work while being able to make a living off it.
Head over to your dashboard and inside the content tab hit on the main "create content" button.
You'll first have to select what type of content you're creating. In this case, since we're creating an article, select the article option.
Now simply fill up the empty spaces with some of your own magic!
Once you've written up your article, it's time to finish inserting some last details.
Each article must have a wiki assigned to it. Wikis will help you article get seen by people browsing our wiki pages. Our wikis are a great way of ensuring that people can browse for new content based on topics that they're interested in.
Tags are also important. If you're writing about something for which we haven't created a wiki for tags will come in handy. For example, we don't have a wiki page about bees. But if you're an expert on bees you may still want people to be able to find your article easily.
The custom post excerpt is the longer format description that gets posted to the blockchain. If you leave it blank, we'll automatically post the first 560 characters of your post to the blockchain. Ideally, you never want this to be blank as you want to control what gets posted on-chain.
Only blog owners have the option of posting the entire article to the blockchain. With limits, however, as deso only allows approximately 3000 words per transaction on-chain.
Finally, just make sure to give your content a nice thumbnail. We use a 16:9 image ratio and ideally you want it to be 1920x1080 pixels.
We have a separate guide on content protection. For now, just know that there is a way for you to protect content if you wish to do so. You can set it up so that your creator coin holders have access to it, or simply set up a payment wall of a minimum reward for people to unlock access to your content.
Believe it or not, it's important to assign each post to its original author, especially if you're publishing through a blog!
Each blog can set its own "authors reward" percentage. That is, the percentage amount thats gets sent to the author of the post for all of the rewards that that particular post makes.
And finally... Just don't forget to save your work!
